Omaha, NE >> For immediate release

Dan Pauley, formerly of Hastings, announced today the formation of the new law firm Smith Pauley, formed to serve clients across Nebraska and the region. Headquartered in Omaha, Smith Pauley is comprised of attorneys from the former Smith Slusky Law and several new partners who joined the firm in recent months. Dan Smith, one of the original firm’s founding partners, commented “This is the best possible transition to the future. It’s an infusion of youth balancing the depth of senior experience. Key to our culture has been serving clients with integrity and ingenuity. I am confident that will continue.”

Dan Pauley, who has practiced law in Omaha, Lincoln and Central Nebraska, is the lead partner of the new firm. He has served on several Hastings and Central Nebraska boards and remains active in the community where he grew up part of the Pauley Lumber family. “It didn’t take long for Dan Smith and me to discover a similarity in vision and leadership philosophy,” he said. “His firm was disruptive in how they served clients when founded. Our new firm is disruptive today. We are successful because we believe in the highest level of consultative service to our clients – doing all we can to make their lives easier. And we are dedicated to a system of transparency for all on our team. We won’t employ the historic pyramid model of staffing and compensation in law. Everyone here knows that their passion for the law and demonstrated commitment to our clients is what will drive the trajectory of their careers with us.

“Life has taken some turns in the past few years that mandate adapting to a fast-paced, changing world. The legal profession is no exception to this. That’s why we have this incredible depth of experts on our roster who consult and collaborate on complex topics like business transition/succession planning, estate and wealth transfer planning and more. Everyone on our team is energized by where they see the firm going and everyone is in it for our clients on both the professional and personal levels.”

Pauley’s list of regional involvement includes the Central Nebraska Sports Complex (CNSC) Board of Directors, the American Red Cross of Central and Western Nebraska Board of Directors, the Mary Lanning Healthcare Foundation and Hastings College Boards of Directors, the Hastings Economic Development Corporation Advisory Board and as the Appointed General Counsel of the Hastings College Board. He has also served on the Boards of Directors for Kiwanis of Hastings, Lochland Country Club, TeamMates of Hastings, Heartland Pet Connection, Faith Lutheran Church of Hastings, and the Adams County Childhood Development Council.

Pauley and his wife Brooke currently live in Omaha with their four children. For more on Smith, Pauley and firm at large, see SmithPauley.com. Interviews available upon request.
